This informational event offers you the opportunity to explore both foster care and adoption. You will learn about the foster care crisis in Georgia and how you can be part of the solution. We will discuss adoption and adoption resources. People who have adopted, fostered, or volunteered will share from their personal experience. No childcare is available for this event. If you plan for older children to attend, please register their attendance for enough lunch to be available. Note: child abuse and neglect will be mentioned. Please use your judgement on whether this event is appropriate for your child.
Come spend the day with us as we celebrate what God has done through adopting and fostering! Swim, play games, enjoy good food, make new friends, and swap stories. Join our huge party for all who play a part in bringing children “home” from places familiar and beyond. Let's celebrate together, the promise of God setting the lonely in families.
Registration Opens June 1st!
Our Live The Promise website will familiarize you with our foster care strategy and the vital role of the Church Advocate. Our Church Advocate training provides church volunteers, Advocates, with detailed instruction on how to begin and maintain a strong Foster Care Ministry at their church. The training process consists of three parts – viewing a Pre-Clinic webinar, attending this 2-day Church Advocate Clinic, and subsequent coaching calls and topical webinars. The overall process is built around four basic ideas for your Foster Care Ministry: Envisioning, Establishing, Equipping and Empowering your ministry and volunteers.
