Representatives from DFCS, CASA, Georgia Mentors, Necco and Lutheran Services of Georgia will be in attendance. Ty Bryant, Vice President of Promise686 will share how "Live The Promise" and CarePortal have been successful tools to preserve biological families and strengthen foster families–allowing them to foster stronger and longer.     Live The Promise | Church Advocate Clinic

    Our Church Advocate training provides lay leaders, Advocates, with detailed instruction for beginning and maintaining a strong Foster Care Ministry at their church. The training process consists of three parts – viewing a Pre-Clinic webinar, attending a 1-day Church Advocate Clinic, and subsequent coaching calls and topical webinars.     Navigating the Road to Special Education

    Do you suspect that your foster child has special learning needs, ones which may impact his/her ability to be successful in the school environment? This course will help you navigate the sometimes confusing road of special education. We will meet in the Grace-Snellville Middle School Room. Childcare is available for Newborns through 5th grade. Please send a snack supper with your child. This class will earn 2 CEUs for Foster Parents.

This is the pre-requisite for IMPACT, the state's 24 hour training to become a foster or respite family or to serve one of our foster families on a Care Community.
