By receiving a simple email from CarePortal, an online tool, churches are able to address basic physical needs of vulnerable children and families in their community or assist a local foster family preparing for a new foster placement. These needs are vetted and submitted to CarePortal by child welfare caseworkers and the needs are met by caring people in local churches. Many of these needs are preventative in nature, and actually aid in keeping children out of foster care and with their biological families who love them, but have fallen on hard times. Come out for lunch–bring your interest and your questions! (We'll be meeting upstairs in the Appalachian Room–#4204.)
